The NLNA Board of Directors has four officers, plus 11 at-large members. President, Treasurer, and six at-large members are elected in even years; Vice-President, Secretary, and five at-large members are elected in odd years.  All terms are for two years.

Nominations are taken at the General Meeting every April, and the election is held at the General Meeting every May. If you would like to run in the next election, you can ask someone to nominate you, or you can simply nominate yourself.

To vote in NLNA elections an individual must be 18 years of age or older, must be a resident of Northern Liberties, or must own a business with a physical* in Northern Liberties, and must be registered with the NLNA.

*Property owners who do not live in or run a business in the neighborhood, and business owners with only a PO box in the neighborhood, are not eligible to run for any seat, or to vote in the election.

Please validate your registration status by completing this Voter Registration Status Form (click here)  by Friday, May 17, 2024 (this will be required this year to ensure our list is up to date).

TO REGISTER TO VOTE FOR THE FIRST TIME:

Please complete the New Voter Registration Form (click here) by Friday, May 17, 2024 and follow form instructions. Please prepare your proof of residency/business ownership (scan ID or provide most recent utility bill.)

Interested in running?

To serve on the Board of Directors as an at-large member, a nominee must meet the requirements as described above to register to vote. In addition, the candidate must have lived in, or owned or operated a business in Northern Liberties for a period of not less than one year prior to the election. To serve as an officer, candidates must have served on the Board now or in the past for at least one year.

NLNA has a working board. Board members responsibilities include the following (expectation of 8+ hours of service monthly):

  • Help safeguard the NLNA’s financial health through fiscal oversight (legally required)

  • Attend at least 10 Board & 3 General Membership meetings a year

  • Help safeguard the NLNA's fiscal health through fundraising

  • Make the NLNA Board available and accountable to neighbors

  • Take a leadership role in at least one committee or ongoing initiative

  • Make an annual donation, even if just nominal, to the NLNA
