Help the City keep leaves out
of the landfill. Collect, bag, and recycle
The Leaf Collection and Recycling Program is one of several services provided by the Streets Department to honor the City’s ongoing commitment to recycling. This program helps reduce the amount of materials that reach the waste stream and saves landfill space. Mechanical collection and bagged drop-off services are provided. Please note that ONLY leaves are accepted in this program. Yard waste—such as brush and tree limbs—is not accepted.
The 2017 Leaf Collection and Recycling Program will begin on Monday, November 6th and will end on Saturday, December 16th. This year’s program will consist of two recycling methods:
Bagged leaf drop-off will be offered citywide from 9am to 3pm on Saturdays (except November 11th and 25th due to Veteran’s and Thanksgiving holidays) at 23 locations and from 8am to 6pm at your nearest Sanitation Convenience Center, Monday through Saturday. Click here for a full location list.
Mechanical leaf collection is provided as a supplement to bagged collections in areas identified as having heavy accumulations of leaves and will be offered on a designated weekly schedule in areas with a heavy concentration of leaves Click here to find out if and when your block is scheduled for mechanical leaf collection.
