Neighbors Helping Neighbors: Block-Level Assistance Tool Available

NLNA Help Line: Ask for Help or Offer Help

If you need help or know someone who might, let us know: help.nlna.org

You do not have to be elderly, immunocompromised or sick to request help, and you don't need any special skills to offer help. Needs and assistance can involve errands, food, answering questions, or just a phone conversation to reduce social isolation.

Go to help.nlna.org or click here to access the easy online form. Or email us at office@nlna.org or call the NLNA office at 215-627-6562 (voicemail checked daily).

Spread the word about NLNA’s Neighbor's Helping Neighbors program. This simple online tool allows you to:

  • Volunteer to help neighbors on our near your block
  • Ask for help on your block for yourself or on behalf of a vulnerable neighbor

Assistance can range from shopping for groceries to becoming a “phonepal”. So far, over 60 neighbors have volunteered and are ready to help neighbors in need.

Click here to access the form. It will record your name, contact info, and whether you are asking for help or offering assistance. The NLNA will connect requesters and volunteers block by block as we receive responses.

We can tweak it in the coming days, but it's functioning well and we want to start connecting people ASAP.

The form also contains a link to a consolidated coronavirus resource guide, which provides links to government and social-service resources and news/info updates.

For general questions or assistance, or to submit items to be added to the Resource Guide, please email Lara Kelly at office@nlna.org. While our office is closed, Lara continues to check the mail and voicemail regularly; feel free to call, 215-627-6562.

Special thanks to members of the NLNA board, and in particular board member Renya Wasson for creating the Neighbors Helping Neighbors tool.
