Playground Update!

Delayed opening until Spring 2026

We are in the final phase which is exciting but came with a bit of a change in plans!

While both teams have been working very hard on this project we have hit a major delay.

Our equipment arrived ~2 months later than we had originally planned due to increased production and shipping times - which caused our construction team a significant change in their scheduled time to be at our site.

When the equipment finally arrived we were all hopeful for a quick and easy build but Liberty Lands had a challenge ready for the team.

Liberty Lands has a rich history and it’s site has been many things over the last 100 years alone.

Lots of the things that WERE in our city are still here. . . just buried under us!

So every time we dig in the ground, we are peeling back history.

Before there was a park, there was a factory here. After it was donated to the neighborhood, the factory was demolished, but its remains are all beneath us!

Some of the playground is built on the thick slab of concrete that was a driveway for trucks.

Other parts are built over the giant basement of the factory — which is now full of all the broken walls of the factory itself.

Because of this it has been very difficult to place the equipment in the ground.

The construction team continues to work hard and we are grateful for their persistence through these layers of history to get us to our future new playground.

We appreciate your patience and can’t wait to see you all in the Spring!

Some of the many holes that have to be dug. One showing the concrete slab.

A view down into one of the holes showing an old brick wall.

But the good news is… The CAR is BACK!

Tables and Benches

We will have 5 new benches and 7 new tables in the playground area of the park - and we want to see your name on them!

We only have 2 tables left to sponsor!

The team choose these benches and tables as they are made with long lasting environmentally friendly materials, inclusive by design, and a colorful compliment to our playground.

Whether it’s a family, a group of friends, a local business, or a memorial we’d love to have you!

Sponsorship Amounts:

  • Benches - $2,025

  • Tables - $2,900
