NLNA Board of Directors Annual Elections

The NLNA Board of Directors has four officers, plus 11 at-large members. President, Treasurer, and six at-large members are elected in even years; Vice-President, Secretary, and five at-large members are elected in odd years.  All terms are for two years.

All members of the NLNA Board of Directors, and every member of all neighborhood committees are volunteers.

nominations

Nominations are taken at the General Meeting every April, and the election is held at the General Meeting on June 4th. If you would like to run in the next election, you can ask someone to nominate you, or you can simply nominate yourself.

This year we are electing: President, Treasurer, and 5 At-Large Board of Director seats.

2026 Nominations

In person were held on April 23. To nominate online, click here or send an email the Election Committee at vote@nlna.org (subject “Board Nomination”). Please include:

  • The first and last name of the nominated individual

  • The position they are nominated for (At-Large Board Member, President, Treasurer)

  • Contact information (email or phone number)

Nominations will be closed at 9:00 PM on Friday, May 15th. 

After checking eligibility and receiving confirmation from nominees, we will post a list of candidates, along with information about the June 4th Election Meeting.


voter Registration

To vote in NLNA elections an individual must be 18 years of age or older, must be a resident of Northern Liberties, or must own a business with a physical* location in Northern Liberties, and must be registered with the NLNA. Anyone who has voted in NLNA elections after 2005 is still registered. To register you need to present a driver’s license or other proof of residency such as a utility bill.

For first time voters: Please complete the New Voter Registration Form by Friday, May 15, 2026 and follow form instructions.

For previously registered voters: Please validate your registration status by completing the Voter Registration Status Confirmation Form by Friday May 15, 2026.

If you would rather register in person or are unable to submit the form, you may reach out to vote@nlna.org to schedule a time to register in person.  You will also have an opportunity to register the day of the election, June 4th 2026.


Board Eligibility

To serve on the Board of Directors as an at-large member, a nominee must be eligible and registered to vote in NLNA elections. To serve as an officer, candidates must have served on the Board now or in the past for at least one year.

All nominated candidates must attend the NLNA Candidate Orientation meeting prior to the election (in-person or virtual options).

*Property owners who do not live in or run a business in the neighborhood, and business owners with only a PO box in the neighborhood, are not eligible to run for any seat, or to vote in the election.


Board Member responsibilities

  • Attend monthly Board of Directors meetings on the second Monday of each month

  • Chair or help lead at least one NLNA committee or project/initiative

  • Volunteer for various NLNA fundraisers and events

  • Stay in active contact with other Board members via the NLNA board email list

  • Be ambassadors to the neighborhood, and generally help solve problems and promote quality of life

  • Participate in overseeing the NLNA’s finances and internal operations
